practice doesn't make perfect, rather makes perfection a little more attainable

There's is always that moment when we come to realize certain things about ourselves: that we are creatures of habit, we attract people and situations that are like ourselves, and that no matter how well we think we know ourselves, there is so much more to learn.
As I drink Dallmayr Espresso Monaco out of my lucky green-striped coffee mug and position myself under my hooded dryer in front of my refurbished desktop computer, I can't help but to laugh at how these rituals that I've established play such a big role in my comfort level and sense of security.
With that, habits aren't always bad. Good habits have a way of sticking around just as much as bad ones. Correct body positioning when cutting, clean sectioning when styling, and neat partings when applying chemicals are all good habits for which I am grateful...and that remain with me. Yes, often some people consider speed to be more valuable than precision; sometimes a cheaper price tag is more desired than a stellar result. But as a habit, I gravitate towards the less frequent but better option, the lesser convenience for the greater satisfaction.  I am still happy that I didn't go anywhere for a month in exchange for my Chanel frames with a costly prescription--I still enjoy them as much today as I did 3 years ago when I initially suffered for them--and the "suffering" itself is now anecdotal fodder. Some things are simply worth the sacrifice, and without it, they would never truly be appreciated.
